Yum, Bugs

Yum, Bugs

Thais, particularly those from the northeastern part of the country, are known to dine on various kinds of insects, including grasshoppers and caterpillars. Theoretically these should be pretty nourishing, wholesome foods. You have to be careful, though, because you don't actually know how they died, and they may, in fact, contain pesticide residues (this advice from a Thai friend, who won't eat them himself, for that reason).
