Tony Roma's

Tony Roma's

Thailand is full of all kinds of food. If you like American food, there's plenty of that (the Thai people seem fond of it). There are even a number of U.S. food chains operating in Bangkok, including Tony Roma's (depicted here).

Although we stayed close to Amy's parents for most of the day, and would stay with them for an American dinner in the evening, we would typically eat light, and then, after they were settled in for the night, we'd step out for our real dinner, and eat Thai food.

In this photo we're at a local open-air eatery just behind the Amari Boulevard Hotel. With us is Jariya.

Interview

Interview

The Department of Public Welfare (DPW) interviews people who would like to adopt Thai children. Thais take good care of their children, and foreign adoption is relative rare there.

We adopted from Thailand precisely because the program there is small and well run.

Nap

Nap

Jariya had no problem taking a nap the first day we had her alone with us. She seemed to feel we were safe.

Yum

Yum

Jariya has always loved to eat. And she has never been a picky eater. She will eat vegetables, fruits, weird cheeses, spicy things—stuff most American kids wouldn't even touch. Even now (2008) at age seven I absolutely love feeding her.
